             kuroo’s words did cause a tiny smile to break through that lingering frown of his. just picturing putting lev in his place brought him so much satisfaction. if any of his teammates were to try and cheer him up, well, it probably wouldn’t of had the same affect. mainly because all of those horrible words spoken to him were about his teammates. it could’ve been mere provoking like he said, but that was incredible provoking then, more like traumatizing.

            the middle blocker clenched his fists, his voice struggling to remain strong and not weak sounding.“i was told i’ve only received so much praise because i’m a decent decoy..” not just because of hard work, or all the determination he felt in junior high. this crow wasn’t done flying, although, all bird’s injured their wings at some point. he took a bad hit to his. “how i am no more than a tool for s-stupid kageyama. asahi hates me, how daichi and suga-san barely support me, and that tanaka and nishinoya only like me cause i inflate their egos!–”

            the orange haired boy shook his head back and fourth, looking down at the ground. “..no, It was just provoking.. poor provoking.” hinata mumbled that to himself, but still he fell victim to it. how pathetic, huh?

                Kuroo would sling an arm around the smaller male, hand gently ruffling the mess of orange upon his head. He’d heard of people trying to hit the weak spot, but this was insane. No punches pulled, straight for the insecurities.     Feh, how tactless.

  “A decent decoy– ??    They’re selling you a little short there, aren’t they—- Heh, short—- Come on now, when it really comes down to it, when you pull of that awesome freak quick, who is everybody looking at.    Who is everyone amazing and awed by– ???    Not Kageyama,    you.    The short kid who people think wouldn’t be able to amount to anything special.    You are the perfect decoy.  I could go on.”

“Tsk. Kageyama is a socially inept asshat, but to his credit, even he’s not that much of an asshole. You’re important to him, he won’t show it though.   Trust me, your setter is about as ready to tell you that as mine is.    Asahi hating you is pretty dumb too, yeah you and him are fighting for the title of Ace right now by the looks of things, but the big guy couldn’t hate anyone, least of all you.”

     He’d let a snort and a roll of the eyes slip through–
“Daichi and Suga are busy trying to keep up with you, they’re still trying to fit into the mess you first years have created.  Honestly, I feel like I’ve been a captain to two teams, but I don’t really mind, I have my skills and I know what I’m doing.   They support you as best they can, but don’t expect too much when they’re struggling to keep themselves in.  Suga isn’t even really a regular anymore, is he—    And the two second years– ??   Feh, they’re loud and egotistical, but honestly, I can’t see them doing something so underhanded. 

                   I guess that’s my two cents on that, but you know, if you’re able to get Kenma to adore you, even help you practice for a bit when he could be playing a game—-   You’re a pretty incredible guy in my eyes.    I bet you anything Bokuto and Akaashi would agree, they’re starting to like you a lot.”
